|  Spot Check Surface ThermometerWe use this very unique and delicate thermometer to gauge the precise temperature for wax grounds. To start, let the plate sit on the preheated hotplate for about 5 minutes to warm up. The surface of the hotplate should be approximately 175 degrees Fahrenheit for the hard ground, 140 degrees for the soft ground. Use a surface temperature gauge to judge the heat.
