| Christopher Brown: Works on PaperAn exhibition catalog with essays by Signe Mayfield and Karin Breuer. Softcover, 68 pages with color illustrations. Published by Palo Alto Cultural Center, Palo Alto, California, 1995.
In 1995 the Palo Alto Cultural Center presented an exhibition of Brown's works on paper. Many of the works were prints that Brown made at Crown Point Press. Brown has always made etchings, finding the process to be the thing that holds him to the task. Karin Breuer, curator at the Achenbach Foundation for Graphic Arts, writes in the catalog, "From his early efforts created in a basement workshoip to recent prints made in technically sophisticated studios, Brown has been fascinated by process. When the process is sympathetic to his natural way of working, Brown is aware that highly creative work is the result. This awareness or understanding of the print as 'super drawing,' as something that is powerfully different from his painted or drawn work, identifies Christopher Brown's prints as primary forms of expression."
